Seems like we wont even need download links anymore as people have other ways that they get their software nowadays. I really miss the days of clean no hassle direct HTTP links, but the world powers that be, the gestapos want to make sure that we always have to pay for software no matter what. Anyways, don't worry, no official word has been put out to shut the site down or drastically change the format. Hope it sticks around longer, but I feel it won't unless some kind of progressive positive action is taken. Same thing with all these boards. Seems to be becoming a thing of the past now. I hardly see anyone on NX anymore either.
